About the project

NESS is a multibrand fashion boutique, located in Mechelen and Zele (BE), that puts your happiness first.

How? They offer an easygoing and uplifting haven, both online and in-store, in which you can shop the latest trends.

The challenge? To revisit their brand strategy and redesign a brand that is flexible for both ladies and men stores.

Brand Strategy

We started with assessing the current status and a thorough research of their values, followed by a customer journey mapping and translating the outcomes to a brand proposal. By doing so, a well-researched and defined audience could be established who resonate with the key values NESS stands for. This offers a powerful foundation to go ahead and discover new opportunities.

Among others, following questions stood central in this process:

  1. How might we create a look & feel that resonates with a broad target audience?

  2. How might we display expertise (e.g. personal styling) through digital media?

  3. How might we link a service and/or product (e.g. the Styliness box, a service provided by NESS where they send over a few tailored, curated outfits to your home) to the NESS’ identity?

Brand concept

In the branding proposal, we presented visual interpretations of the brand, often referred to as mock-ups. It gave the client an opportunity to see a curated collection of concepts that will allow them to imagine the overall look and feel for NESS’ rebranding.

Brand identity

NESS stands for:

  • fashion & happiness

  • feeling good in your own skin

  • unburden a family, so that they can enjoy each others’ free time

  • men and more

  • ladies and leisure

After an iterative process, we landed on a Brand Identity that fits just right.

We established a Brand Guidelines document, by which we made sure that NESS has clear directions for upholding a consistent brand experience across various platforms.

Content Design

Templates enable a brand to deliver consistently designed messages across multiple channels. For NESS, this included:

  • Feed and stories templates for Instagram & Facebook

  • Instagram highlight icons

  • Mail templates in Mailchimp
